The Hollytree Hotel is the village's most historic building part of which was originally constructed as Kentallen Railway Station in the late 1890’s before being tastefully converted and extended to now form a luxury waters edge luxury Hotel with one of the best seaside coastal locations in Scotland.
The public areas of the Hotel consist of an award winning Seafood Restaurant, the Captain's Lounge Bar with Outside Drinks Terrace and the Railway Lounge. There is also a fully heated luxurious indoor swimming pool and sauna in the Hotel to pamper our guests.
The Seafood Restaurant has large glass panels overlooking the sea offering fantastic views and is well known for serving locally caught fresh seafood and shellfish with scallops, mussels, oysters, langoustines, prawns, salmon and lobster particular specialties. Ensuring that there is something for everything the restaurant also specializes in Scottish fillet steak, Scottish wild venison, free range chicken and Scottish Lamb, all char grilled to perfection using a specially designed chargrill. Unlike a number of Hotels, the Seafood restaurant pays particular attention to freshly prepared quality food and the full A’ la Carte menu is served for dinner bed and breakfast guests with no fixed or limited choice table d'hote menu being forced on our guests.
The Captains Lounge Bar is a fashionable lounge which serves local ales and fine wines and also all day food, with fresh locally caught seafood featuring. Again huge glass panels allow stunning views of the sea with a French window opening onto the drinks terrace. The terrace offers outside seating to enjoy either lunch or drinks and watch the yachts sail by.
The Railway lounge is part of the original Kentallen train station which was the main line station between Ballachulish and Oban before being closed in the late 1960's. The lounge is a great place to relax with a malt whisky in front of the real fire.
