Originally, built in the 1880s as a private hunting lodge, for Laird Macintosh of Macintosh, the property has been sensitively added to over the years and extensively refurbished. Today, the Lodge can be described as classically luxurious with modern amenities.
Using only the best local, produce available, our award winning chef passionately creates world class cuisine enjoyed by many return guests as well as locals.

For the ultimate romantic experience, why not stay in our Braveheart Suite. Popular with Honeymooners, it's ideal for any special occasion, and is renowned for having accommodated several well-known guests in its time. The spacious Braveheart Suite is so named as the hotel is near to the setting for many of the dramatic scenes from the Mel Gibson film 'Braveheart'.
