Designed to form a traditional courtyard from the front but with a modern twist maximizing the mountain views at the rear through the huge floor to ceiling windows and internal 12ft ceilings. A traditional-looking croft exterior that is sympathetic to its surroundings and gives lie to the luxurious, contemporary interiors. Ideal for couples, families, walking groups, wildlife parties, and group accommodation situated in Mingarry, Moidart, on the picturesque west coast of the Scottish Highlands just one hour from Fort William (Outdoor Capital of the UK) and within easy reach of the Isle of Mull, Mallaig, and the Isle of Skye. Whether in the Highlands for the scenery, outdoors, history or just to get away, Garmoran Square can offer it all - a truly great holiday awaits you.

Wifi, Sat tv, I-pod docking station, well equipped kitchen, all bedrooms en-suite. Garden with bbq. The cottages each unique and have been individuality and tastefully decorated with quality fixtures and fittings throughout to ensure your stay is luxurious. Open fires or log burners in the lounge. Solid oak/tilted floors, spa bath (master bedroom) and controllable under floor heating throughout. All bedrooms are en suite, with either bath with over head power shower or walk in power shower. Master bedrooms have fluffy bathrobes and all bathrooms have Scottish toiletries.

Pets welcome by prior arrangement only. On arrival you will find a supply of coal and logs for the fires, all beds made up with quality cotton linen, bath sheets, hand towels and face clothes in the bathrooms and high chairs and cots are available if required. Plus you are greeted with a welcome hamper with essential goods and luxury local treats. Master bedrooms have fluffy bathrobes and all bathrooms have Scottish toiletries. Each cottage is equipped with a library of local history and walking books and maps for you to make the most of your stay in this wonderful area. For days when the weather makes indoor more appealing, there are board games and a selection of DVD's.

Kitchen has coffee maker, food processor, hand blender, food mixer, and many, many utensils, you can make dinner as complicated or easy as you like and with Highland stoneware crockery to showcase your culinary skills. Local produce can be delivered for use during your stay, sample the great offerings the west coast has - venison, smoked fish and cheeses, scallops, langoustine etc. Or for an evening in meals can be dropped off from one a great local restaurants, using local produce and all freshly cooked.

Drying area for outdoor clothing plus a shared outdoor bike shed is provided. The properties also have a decks with out door furniture and charcoal bbq for outdoor entertaining and enjoying al fresco meals. The large floor to ceiling windows are south facing so the cottages enjoys sunlight all day long. With no light population in Moidart you can enjoy the starry night sky. If taking the whole property Somerled kitchen acts as the real hub of the courtyard where up to 18 people can have a sit down meal. Owner Susan and Kenneth MacDonald live next door and are on hand with a wealth of information about his amazing area to ensure your holiday is a great one.

Enjoy all this within a well maintained garden with large lawn areas that is fenced and gated. With croft land to front and side and a lovely old Scots pine forest to the rear, great for wee strolls.
There is car parking at the front of the courtyard for 7 cars, one of these being on hard standing for disabled access to the path to the front doors. There is an outside stone bothy which is used as bike /outdoor equipment store and has a lean-to at the back for logs. Kayaks can be sorted on the grass beside the bothy.

Beaches can be accessed at Dorlin, Ardtoe and Gortean Singing sands. A strenuous walk is required to reach the Gortean beach 6 miles round trip but the beach at the end of the walk makes this very worth while. Ardtoe and Dorlin (Castle Tioram) are accessed by a 5/10min drive.
Or enjoy a fantastic hill walk from the cottage over to Loch Moidart and onto the Silver Walk to discover the ruins of the Village of Briaig an on wards to Castle Tioram
Further afield excellent beaches are available at Arisaig (16 miles) or Morar (18 miles) used in the filming of Local Hero. Sanna Bay on the most Westerly point of the British mainland (1hr drive).
Our favourite Samalaman beach at Glenuig 15mins from Garmoran.

Five minutes drive from a bakery, grocers, tearoom, hotels, pubs and a restaurant offering great quality food using local produce - life as it used to be but blended with modern convenience.
